Interviewing Jackie Warner was a trip!
Just Thinking...

Jackie Warner, who has achieved cult figure status because of her intriguing Bravo! reality tv series, "Work Out,"  was so much fun to interview.  She's so candid, unassuming, and spontaneous to the point I didn't  know where the interview was going next, but I  fastened my seat belt and got ready for the ride.  The cover story for the August issue of Fitness Rx was, of course, about her training as well as the specific exercises she planned to use for the photo shoot.  Our interview started on her cell phone in her car on the way to her exclusive Beverly Hills gym, SkySport, and then went up the elevator into her office.  We were at the point in the interview where I needed the exercises when Jackie put me on speaker (she called me back from her office phone), grabbed a few pieces of equipment, and began devising exercises right on the spot.  I could hear her in the background grunting, moving equipment around, and saying things like, "Maybe I'll try it this way," or "this might be good."  She basically invented several of the exercises as I recorded the interview, which were immortalized in her photo shoot, which took place the next day.   And as they say, the rest is history.

My interview with Dara Torres!
Just Thinking...

I can't tell you how excited I am (I'm doing my happy dance right now) to actually interview for the second time the amazing and ageless Olympic gold medalist in swimming, Dara Torres.  She's been on the cover of USA Today, the New York Times, and Time magazine (and that's the short list) as well as all over the tv news, mainly because at 41, she's competing for the U.S. in her fifth Olympic competition, which is unprecedented in Olympic history.  And, everyone is expecting her to break more records and come home with the gold. In the midst of my other assignments for the October issue of Fitness Rx, my publisher decided that because Dara was making headlines everywhere, we should get a story on her for the next issue, which comes out in September, right in the wake of the Olympics.
